Traditional rattle making ceremony

  • Phoenix rising center, Mamaroneck NY 606 Mamaroneck Avenue Mamaroneck, NY 10543 (map)

Rattles are the sound of the North in the medicine wheel. Their sound assimilate the rain therefore a good cleanser of dense energies stuck in body, mind or spaces. They are also used for traveling into other realms, journeying to the North where our ancestors, teachers and guides live.

In this workshop you will craft a traditional corn filled Elk-rattle for ceremonial and healing use.

Once sacred space has been opened and everyone has voiced their presence in the circle we will receive the materials for bringing these tools through. The first step is to make the holes and sew them together. We will be filling them with sand to take the desired shape and let them dry while having lunch and embarking on a journey with our hosts, Suey and Lisa. They will lead us through a restorative and transformative sound healing journey, where you'll travel to a deeper state of consciousness connecting you to the vibrations of the mighty elk & its ancient energies. The synergy of sound and intention opens a pathway for you to explore the realms within yourself, fostering a connection with your inner guidance and connecting with the transformative healing energies of your sacred rattle.

You can read more about them here.

The final step of assembling the rattles and exchanging the sand for corn will tie the day together.

Exchange is $155 and includes all materials.

Register by paying in full.
